Description

Lista lighthouse is home to the visitor center for Lista Wetland Area, Lista Bird Observatory, and an information center that provides tourist information. You can climb the 134 steps to reach the top of the 34-meter-high stone tower, which was first illuminated on November 10, 1836. From there, you'll be treated to a breathtaking view of the Listahalvøya peninsula and the vast expanse of the sea. You’ll also find an art gallery, an information center, and an ornithological station right next to the lighthouse. Inside the information center at the lighthouse area, you'll find a cozy seating area where you can relax. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to indulge in local delights such as ice cream, "lappekake" (a traditional cake), the lighthouse's own locally-produced fish soup by Sjø, and coffee or tea. If you’re lucky you’ll get to see the Alpacas that roam the area around the lighthouse.

Important

While the lighthouse area remains open throughout the year, please note that the lighthouse itself and the information center have specific opening hours during the summer months. On weekends, the opening hours are adjusted for the rest of the year.
