Description
The Musk Ox Trail in Dovre is an amazing hike that you should definitely experience. The trail takes you through the beautiful Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park, where you can have the opportunity to see the majestic musk oxen in their natural habitat. The trail is about 12 km long and takes around 4-5 hours to complete. It's a moderately challenging hike, so make sure to wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
Important
The Musk ox is a pretty cool creatures, but it's important to keep your distance. If they feel threatened, they can get aggressive. They're much faster than you, they can go from 0 to 60 km/h in just a second! So, if you happen to come across them on the trail, it's best to give them some space and walk around them in a curve. Keep at least 200 meters away to avoid disturbing them. Be extra cautious in the early summer, as they might be hanging out in the birch forest.
