Welcome to Roadlifer

Hello, and welcome to the very first post on the Roadlifer blog.

We're Camilla and Stein, a Norwegian couple who've spent the last three years travelling the world in our campervan, and we have no plans to stop any time soon. Roadlifer started as a solution to our own problem. Every time we rolled into somewhere new, the questions piled up: where can we sleep tonight? Is it safe? Is there a place to fill up water nearby? Is there a great hike in the area? Anything worth seeing in this town we just drove

We were jumping between four or five different apps, half of them with stale information, half of them region-specific. So we decided to build the tool we wished existed: one place to find everywhere worth stopping on the road. Wild camping spots, designated motorhome areas, campsites, hikes, rest areas, mechanics, water and waste stations, picture-perfect viewpoints, all on the same map. That's the idea behind our motto: discover more.

What you'll find here

The Roadlifer app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, and it's free to use. The website mirrors the same data, so you can plan your trip from your laptop and take it with you on the road. We'll be using this blog to share updates from us, travel stories from our own road, and tips we pick up along the way.

We're new, and we'd love your help

Here's the honest part: Roadlifer is brand new. The map already has plenty of places, but the more eyes (and tyres) we have on the road, the better the data becomes. If you spot a place that should be on Roadlifer, a wild camping spot you love, a mechanic who saved your trip, a town with easy parking near the centre, please add it. It only takes a minute, and you'll be making the next traveller's life a little easier.

The same goes for reviews: even a quick rating helps everyone else decide where to spend the night. And if something is off, closed, prices changed, no longer safe, let us know in the app and we'll keep things up to date.
